As a young child in the 80’s, native Tucsonan Mark A Molina remembers spending Saturday mornings watching cartoons and playing classic Atari 2600 and Nintendo games. The bright neon colors and electro pop sounds left a lasting impression that remains with him today. As a graphic design student, MAM drew inspiration from Pop Art icons like Andy Warhol and Keith Haring. The bold lines and vibrant colors spoke to him, and he began to interpret his own kitschy visions in media as diverse as collage, painting, paper mâché, jewelry, and custom-designed cakes.
