August Featured Artist: Art Knacky Ceramics

Our August featured artist is Andrea Kashanipour, the maker behind Art Knacky. She makes by hand whimsical ceramic figures, smaller than 8 inches, creating a "miniature empire." Her artwork has been featured in both national and international publications, including the New York Times and Gardens Illustrated Britain. We love the spirit of fun inherent in her pieces.
In her words: "As an artist I enjoy making original items that embellish everyday life. My ceramic novelty ware takes inspiration from history, society and my environment. I expand on an established tradition of collectible fine art objects, with items that are accessible and feel like home. It is my intention to offer frivolities that are decorative and sometimes humorous, but overall, artworks with a unique personality."
