October Featured Artist: MAM

Posted by Shannon Riggs on

As a young child in the 80’s, native Tucsonan Mark A Molina remembers spending Saturday mornings watching cartoons and playing classic Atari 2600 and Nintendo games. The bright neon colors and electro pop sounds left a lasting impression that remains with him today. As a graphic design student, MAM drew inspiration from Pop Art icons like Andy Warhol and Keith Haring. The bold lines and vibrant colors spoke to him, and he began to interpret his own kitschy visions in media as diverse as collage, painting, paper mâché, jewelry, and custom-designed cakes.  🍬🍬🍬🍬🍬 Join us for our #TotallyMAM meet and greet...

I expand on an established tradition of collectible fine art objects, with items that are accessible and feel...

Posted by Shannon Riggs on

Erika Rose Mark, the Tucson based creator behind Lumenrose Jewelry, believes in jewelry’s ability to transform and empower. She began metalsmithing in San Francisco in 2009, and became fascinated by the way that a hard, durable material can be turned into something that appears delicate, soft and luminous. The limitations of fabrication—the process of cutting, hammering, and connecting metal—inspire her. All her pieces are handmade and incorporate recycled sterling silver and often locally sourced turquoise. Erika says, "the ways we present ourselves to the world can be influenced by the ways we decorate our bodies. My wish is for jewelry to carry...
